This was supposed to be the highlight of our week. Dinner and a Show to celebrate my Wife's 70th Birthday. Sadly, because of the ridiculously high standard set by our previous day's activities, it could only match what we were almost coming to expect as a '5 Star' norm!
Our pre-show dinner was a gastronomic experience matched with friendly and very attentive service culminating in chocolate - dipped fresh strawberries on a platter with 'Happy Birthday' iced around the edge and a glass of my Wife's favourite Riesling to wash it down. The M/D at the Tamarind did'nt have to, but he did, much to our pleasure.
Front row seats at Xtreme Illusions initially suggested to me that I would be a target for sawing in half but was spared the embarrassment. Sitting right under Sam Power's nose was, I thought, the perfect place to 'catch him out", not a bit of it, I have no idea how he does what he does but it's a hell of a good show! The DVD that was part of the package deal will be watched amid fond memories of, yet another, memorable North Queensland experience.

My daughter and wife instantly fell in love with Sam. He made the audience work hard but I guess audience participation is important in a magic show and he certainly wowed them.

Dinner at the Chinese Cafe was awesome everyone loved it. The Sam Powers Illusion show was funny, entertaining but a bit short. Overall it was a great night out.
